My name is Eva Wissenz. I’m an environmentalist, and a social and impact entrepreneur based in Tampere, Finland.

My DNA is to walk my talk sustainably. Being an entrepreneur is my way to have a positive impact in these challenging times. I know the systemic changes required by the climate change crisis and in terms of entrepreneurship I have done it all. That’s why I am happy to help young entrepreneurs to have a real positive impact in their working life. Focused on ethics and quality, I’m passionate about transitioning towards a more sustainable society for 15 years.

I am the founder of Sepia Agency and the co-founder of Solar Fire Concentration ltd.Before moving to Finland, I had a long career as free-lance and corporate in Paris, France. I wrote and published 12 books in French (novels and poetry)..

With Solar Fire Concentration ltd, during these last 8 years I have managed international partnerships, handled communications, supervised mission’s logistics in developing countries (India, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Haiti, South Africa), and managed multi-cultural team. As managing director, CEO and Chairperson, I worked at the intersection of renewable energy, education and agro-ecology sectors.

Mr Juha Kaario (COO and Chairman of the Board at Newelo Oy) was my mentor to launch Sepia Agency as part of the City of Tampere and Pirkamaan Yrityskummiyhdistys Ry program in 2019-2020.
In 2019, I’ve been a mentor myself for Hidden Gems in Tampere and during the Startup Weekend Sustainability.

2012-2020: Solar Fire/GoSol

Between 2012 and 2020, I have been Executive Director, CEO and Chairperson of the Board of Solar Fire Concentration Oy, an impact and social engineering company. I am now part time Chief Communications Officer, Education and Partnerships with France.

Our mission is to eradicate energy poverty with solar thermal energy and spread a new business model for solar entrepreneurs.

I have concentrated my effort on the development of international projects with our branch GoSol, working closely with multiple partners: Autodesk Foundation (USA), Silicon Valley Community Foundation (USA), NGO Plan International (Finland and Uganda), the energy company Wärtsilä (Finland), Finnpartnership (Finland), Carbon Cycle (Philippines), NGO World Vision (Finland and Kenya), Global Resource Alliance NGO (Tanzania), Deloitte Foundation (France), Tampere University of Applied Sciences (Finland), Rexel Foundation (France), Finnvera (Finland) and the University of Berkeley (USA).

Our team has also developed trainings for young solar entrepreneurs.

Under the brand Lytefire, the company is now developing a wide range of services for solar entrepreneurs, including now a solar sauna created for a resort in the Swiss Alps.

1990-2017: Communication and Publishing activities

Before becoming an entrepreneur in Finland, I worked as freelance and corporate in the art and tourism industry in Paris for many years. I was also a free-lance journalist and blogger.

From 2012 to 2018, I created and managed Seepia online publishing house with 16 titles in its French catalog. The focus was on novels meant to increase the awareness about climate change and essays about the environment.

  • Chief Editor and Editor in Tourism:
    > I have been Chief Publisher/Editor at the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau during 2 years. This role consisted of overseeing various collections of publications, including city guides, brochures and maps in 9 languages, as well as internal reports and annual reports. I also oversaw the conversion of publications from new material to recycled and was responsible for the editorial section of the website, www.parisinfo.com.
    > Chief Editor of 6 Paris city guides for Zurban newspaper.
    > Comptoirs du Monde travel agency (Paris): I wrote new guides about Uganda and Finland and updated contents of their website related to New Zealand, Brazil, Senegal, Namibia, Kenya, Ireland and Scotland, Greece.
    > Michelin: during 3 years, I researched and wrote eight new guides, notably in Cuba, in Greece and in Italy.
    > Nomade Aventure: I edited the new version of this travel agency website.
    > At Hachette Group I edited and proofread 32 travel guides and participated in the creation of 4 new titles.

  • Editor in Art:
    J. Kugel Gallery is regarded as one of the most prestigious international antique galleries. During 10 years, I had the privilege of working directly with Alexis Kugel who entrusted me with the editorial catalogs of six exhibitions.

  • Organizing events for Modern Art scene:
    In 2001-2002, I organized conferences at the Modern Art Museum of Centre Pompidou in Paris for the Revues Parlées de Marianne Alphant. I also edited the catalog for the retrospective of designer Fabrice Praeger.
